There Is Still A Small Chance Of Signing Wilson

City boss Derek McInnes says that there is still a chance of offering Mark Wilson a contract before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.

The defender has not been offered a contract by Celtic and became a free agent at the end of the season, at the moment he is with City and is open to offers from clubs.

McInnes would love to have the 28 year old at Ashton Gate, but before he could make any move, he would need the financial backing of the board of directors to put together a wage plan.

McInnes knows the player very well indeed, he regards the defender as a fantastic international and he is hoping to be able to make the most of his services when the club take on Southampton tomorrow.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post, McInnes said: 'Mark Wilson has possibly got other options with regard to other managers having a look at him, but there is nothing that has really grabbed him so far.

He added: 'I have to stress it (right-back) is not a position we are screaming out to fill and there are one or two other positions we want to fill before that. But while Mark is still with us without anyone else wanting him, I don't think there is any harm in continuing to work with him.

I dont agree, I think that a bigger club than City will come along soon enough and grab him, someone who can afford him anyway, I dont think that we can.
Throbbing Rod
He will have been on a good wedge at celtic. He'll be a deadline day signing, not for us though
old grandad
i think we will get him and he will take a pay cut to keep playing in a reasonable league
