'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McInnes Delighted With Latest Signing Baldock.

Bristol City captured forward Sam Baldock last night after he had a medical with the club.

And the player's first job was to sit and watch his new team mates take apart Crystal Palace and wonder how he could get into the side.

Derek McInnes, who has been chasing the strikers signature for some time and after he finally got his man, he admitted to the Bristol Evening Post that he was delighted.

He said: 'I'm over the moon that we've managed to sign Sam. He gives us a real threat to stretch defences and is as good a natural finisher as anyone in the division.

'He will really complement the strikers we already have at the club as well as provide us with a different option in the way we play.

'I'd like to thank the board and our owner for really pushing to get this deal done. He is a striker we have targeted and worked extremely hard to get.

'I have no doubts all the effort and commitment will prove worthwhile.'
