City Fail In Attempt To Bring In Ward

Bristol City's top target Elliott Ward will not be joining the club from Norwich City after a deal could not be struck.

Derek McInnes was keen to bring in the stopper during the transfer window, but no deal was made, now he has tried to bring the player to Ashton Gate on a loan deal but once again the two sides cannot agree terms.

Ward had managed to get himself a regular place in the Norwich side again towards the end of last season, but so far this time around he has not featured in the Canaries line ups.

And of course City were not the only club interested, several Championship clubs have been keeping an eye on goings on at Carrow Road.

This is actually pretty sad news, Ward is a good player and would have helped not only with strengthening at the back but also installing a bit more confidence into the others

True, it is a blow because what we have at the back is hardly going to be what promotions are made of, looks like a midtable season at best then.

This club desperately needs a centre back and yet we haddle over a few quid in wages. Is there anyone else to go for?
