Mixed Feelings For McInnes

Mixed Feelings For McInnes

Bristol City boss Derek McInnes' was happy that his side had picked up their first away win of the season, but he was not so pleased about the injuries inflicted to two of his players.

Sam Baldock weighed in with two goals in six minutes in the second half minutes won the game for City even though Posh found their way back into the game with an injury time penalty from Lee Tomlin.

But there was some gloom for McInnes, he had two players taken off on stretchers with leg braces on.

Cole Skuse was hurt after receiving stud wounds from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing while Greg Cunningham was on the receiving end of a shocking tackle from Tyrone Barnett.

He was left with severe ligament damage and should have been shown the red card, but referee Chris Sarginson somehow thought it was worth just a yellow.

City boss McInnes said to the Press Association: 'I feel the referee let us down. He abdicated responsibility on a couple of occasions.

'The two-footed lunge should have been dealt with properly. The guy got the ball but the aggression, speed and danger element of the challenge meant it was a red card for me all day long.

'Had he dealt with that one then Greg wouldn't have got the straight leg challenge, which was the worst of the lot.

'For neither of them to merit a red was not only disappointing but baffling.

'I'm just pleased with the result. We produced a really professional performance and saw two clinical finishes from Sam.'

The two swines that put those tackles in deserved to get the red card for dngerous play and down right cheating
