Watford and City Share The Points

Neither side did a great lot to write home about in the first half of this encounter with Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Indeed, it was not until the game reached the 20th minute then Watford got two in a minute, the first was blocked and the second from Mark Yeates, was comfortable save for Tom Heaton in the Bristol goal.

City sat back and sapped up the pressure but could have gone in 1-0 up at half time, Martyn Woolford tested Manuel Almunia after 34 minutes.

However, there were to be no first-half goals and the sides went in level.

The second half was more like it, Nathaniel Chalobah went close with a couple of efforts inside the first 20 minutes but the first goal arrived on the hour mark when James Wilson put the ball past Heaton.

However, the lead lasted but three minutes before Marvin Elliott simply got up highest to head home and level the score.

By now there were chances at both ends and on 72 minutes Matej Vydra fired home a shot to make it 2-1.

And with just seven minutes left on the clock, Steve Davies popped up to level the scores once more and set up an exciting finale.
