Robins Win Race For Elokobi

Robins Win Race For Elokobi

Bristol City have signed Wolves defender George Elokobi on loan until 27 December.

The 26-year-old comes in as cover for Greg Cunningham, who will be out of action for two months following an ankle injury.

The player is highly experienced having made 93 appearances for Wolves since joining them from Colchester in January 2008.

But he lost his way when Wolves were in the top flight and spent last season on loan to Nottingham Forest.

Derek McInnes told the clubs official website: 'George relishes a battle and I've gleaned a lot of enthusiasm from our conversations.

'He can play at left-back or centre-half, so he can bring a lot to the team and improve our squad options.

'We've fought off a lot of competition from other Championship clubs to secure his signature, and I believe that shows the perception of Bristol City is changing out there.'
