McManus Back At Ashton Gate

Bristol City have re-signed Middlesbrough defender Stephen McManus on a 93-day emergency loan.

The loan is subject to approval, but it could mean an escape from exile for the player who has only made one league appearance for Boro this season.

The 30-year-old spent a brief spell at Ashton Gate at the back end of last season and he did very well, impressing both fans and Robins chiefs at the same time.

Robins boss Derek McInnes told reporters: 'Last season I felt he came in and gave us a real lift. Hopefully he can do something similar this time around.

'Of course his loan spell was curtailed early last time and I think he feels he has unfinished business here. He was desperate to come back and now we have him for the next three months.'
