Cunningham Set For Early Comeback

Bristol City defender Greg Cunningham could be set to make a comeback to the side earlier than first planned.

Cunningham last appeared in mid September when he picked up ankle ligament damage against Peterborough United.

At the time, the estimated return to action date was mid December, but he is progressing very well and has been able to take off the protective boot he has had to wear since the injury.

Robins manager Derek McInnes reckons Cunningham could be available for selection towards the end of November, two or three weeks ahead of schedule.

He told the Bristol Post 'I think it would be wrong to put a date on it, because that would pressure on him.

'But he has been different class in terms of his rehabilitation, like the true professional he is.

'Greg is eager to get back, he is doing everything to the letter and the physio has been delighted by his progress.

'He saw the specialist about ten days ago and it is all systems go now to try to really push him on with his work.'
