City Say Tavernier Not A Target

Bristol City have distanced themselves from an earlier report that said they were making a move to bring in Newcastle United defender James Tavernier.

BBC Radio Bristol reported that the right-back was the subject of discussions between the two clubs as City wanted the youngster on an emergency loan.

However, the club's media officer Adam Baker had no idea how the story started as there was no truth in it what so ever.

I cant help thinking there may be a little more to this than meets the eye. I dont see the BBC stating something without having some sort of back up to their story.
