'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Grayson Praises Huddersfield Scorer.

Huddersfield boss Simon Grayson singled out the goal scorer Sean Scannell after he netted the only goal of the encounter with Bristol City at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday.

The 22 year old has now been with the Terriers since the club paid £400,000 for his services from Crystal Palace in June and that was his first goal for the club

Grayson told Sky Sports: 'He can be what he wants to be. We haven't seen the best of him yet but he has shown glimpses of what he is capable of.

'He was a constant threat with his power and pace. He started the season but then got a hamstring injury and when he came back he wasn't able to get back in the side.

Scannell was pushed more forward than he usually operates because of injuries to usual strike duo of Vaughan and Beckford and he delivered what his boss wanted to see just before the half time break.

And Grayson revealed that it was not certain that he would even get into the side just a week before the game.

He added: 'We have worked hard with him on his fitness, which was lacking, and we're also working on his positional play.

'He played really well for the under-21 side against Leicester on Tuesday and that's what earned him his chance.'

The win puts Huddersfield on level points with Blackburn Rovers who sit one place above in sixth.
