'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mowbray Won't Dwell On 'Goal'

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray was not going to blame the defeat at the hands of Bristol City on the referee's decision not to allow the home side a dubious goal.

Albert Adomah had given City a shock lead at the Riverside Stadium, but the lead didn't last too long before Ishmael Miller poked the ball into the net from a corner to level the score at 1-1.

Then Tom Heaton managed to stop a corner from Leadbitter but the ball escaped him and it was cleared on the line by Neil Kilkenny, although home fans would say that the ball crossed the line, the officials thought otherwise and no goal was given.

Mowbray told Sky Sports after the game: 'There's no mileage in blaming the referee over things like that, we've had a few things like that go against us this season but also a few go for us.

'You may wonder if the fog may have been a factor in him or the assistants not seeing it but if the referee doesn't give it, there's no point moaning. It won't change the record books.'
