Sam Baldock was on the mark twice for City against Peterborough United on Saturday as City won at home for the first time in ten attempts.
Baldock was on top form and he could have had more than the brace he ended up with as he ran Posh a merry dance all afternoon.
The Robins started their cruise to victory after just five minutes when Baldock sent a cross into the area that saw Paul Anderson dive in to head home from close range.
Lee Tomlin was then shown a straight red card for thrusting an elbow into Greg Cunningham, but it was the visitors who were on the score sheet next.
Keeper Tom Heaton Brought down George Boyd in the box and the referee pointed to the spot, Grant McCann made no mistake from twelve yards and the score was levelled.
But the lead was back with City just eight minutes before the half time break when a through ball by Anderson was latched onto by Baldock and he beat Posh goalkeeper Robert Olejnik with a skilful lob.
The second half was dominated by the home side and they increased their lead just before the hour mark when Albert Adomah got down to the byline and crossed for Steve McManus to head home from just six yards out.
Michael Bostwick then brought down Anderson in the box four minutes later and it was that man Baldock who placed the ball on the spot and hammered home.
Despite City's dominance, Posh managed to add a consolation goal in the final minute of normal time through Dwight Gayle.
The welcome three points has lifted City to 22nd place in the league.
