O'Driscoll Now In Charge At Ashton Gate.
Bristol City have named Sean O'Driscoll as the man to take over from Derek McInnes as manager of the club.
It's a fast appointment so you would wonder if there was already something in the pipeline before McInnes finally received the boot. Never the less, the new man has signed a twelve month rolling contract.
There is speculation that the 55 year old was offered the job at Blackpool but turned it down in favour of a move to Ashton Gate even though the club sit at the bottom of the Championship.
O'Driscoll could have been given charge of City some 15 months ago as speculation has it that he was turned down in favour of the departing McInnes.
'The club has changed in a sense. In some ways they've come round to my way of thinking,' O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol.
'It's a good fit. Sometimes you have to go with your gut instincts and this just feels right.
'I like the way the club has been developed, but obviously not too happy about the league position.
'This has always been a well-respected club and that's not going to change. There's stability within the ownership and I think I can be successful here.'
There is also confirmation from the club that Tony Docherty has also left Ashton Gate.
