'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Inconsistency Cost Us says Kelly

Rob Kelly was left to ponder over the inconsistency of Nottingham Forest after his side went down to Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Stephen Davies and Marvin Elliott scored the goals that gave the home side all the points as Forest lacked any bite up front to be able to get them back into the game.

Dexter Blackstock went the nearest for the visitors when he headed against the crossbar.

There were no words from Forest's new manager Billy Davies as he decided to give the game a miss; he takes over the running of the club on Monday.

But left to face reporters, Kelly said: 'The biggest job for Billy will be to sort out the team's inconsistency because that has been our main weakness.

'By looking at it coldly from the outside I am sure he will be able to come up with some ideas. Those of us close to the players know there is no problem with their level of commitment.'

He went on to say: 'I am sure Billy was taking in another game. He will study this one on DVD and in any case he knows a lot of the players very well.'
