New Deal For Bates
Bristol City defender Matthew Bates has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him at Ashton Gate until the end of the current season.
Bates had made eight appearances for the side under the last manager Derek McInnes, but new manager Sean O'Driscoll was not willing to offer a new contract until he had seen him in training to assess what he had to offer the club.
This took longer than normal because the player was suffering an illness.
