Loan Extension For Gillett

Nottingham Forest midfielder Simon Gillett will be staying with Bristol City until the end of the season after the club extended his loan.

The 28 year old moved to Ashton Gate on an initial three-month loan deal in October and has generally impressed in his time with the Robins.

Speaking to the club's official website Steve Cotterill said: 'Central midfield is where we feel we are a little light and actually somewhere we'd like to strengthen.

'Simon's a great professional and a tidy, intelligent footballer. He reads and understands the game well.'

Since starting his career as a trainee at Southampton, Gillett has been on loan at six different clubs.
