'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tired Legs Cost Victory Says Cotterill

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill saw his side get pegged back twice to draw 2-2 with Tranmere Rovers on tired legs.

The Robins had been through a tough game at Leyton Orient just a few days earlier and that had an effect on his players according to Cotterill who saw a victory snatched away with just ten minutes of the game left with a fine strike from Jason Koumas.

It was City's seventh game in 21 days and Cotterill said: 'I feared that tiredness would be a factor and so it proved.

'At times we found it hard to raise a gallop, although we improved in the second half when we passed the ball a lot better.

'It has been a very tough period for the players and I'm pleased we now have a free week to prepare for another important game at Sheffield United.

'The lads are very disappointed in the dressing room and I take that as a sign of the progress we've made since I arrived.

'Not so long ago we would have lost that sort of game.'

City went in front on 12 minutes when Sam Baldock's cross cum shot found the net, but it only took Tranmere seven minutes to equalise through Jake Cassidy.

Baldock then chipped in the ball for Derrick Williams to head home his first City goal before Koumas struck from 20 yards.
