'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hands Off Baldock Warning.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has reiterated that striker Sam Baldock will not be leaving Bristol City anytime in the immediate future.

Fans got worried after Brighton came in with a firm offer for the 25 year old, but the manager has now spoken and put fans at rest.

City`s board of directors were also adamant that they were not going to sell the man who found the net 26 times last season and dismissed the offer.

"We`re trying to put a squad together here and we`re simply not interested in selling him," said Cotterill to reporters.

"What Brighton offered is immaterial because, at the end of the day, it was dismissed out of hand.

"We don`t want to sell him, so it doesn`t matter what the bid was. We are fortunate that we don`t have to sell our best players and we have (owner) Steve Lansdown to thank for that. There have been no further developments since the weekend, Sam is our player and he is going nowhere."
