West Brom Winger Joins On Loan

Jonathan Leko has joined Bristol City on loan from West Brom.

The winger, who signed his first professional contract, a three year deal, with the Premier League side in June 2016, will spend the remainder of the season at Ashton Gate.

Commenting on the deal, Lee Johnson told the Official Website: 'We are always on the look out for quality and Jonathan has that. He also brings genuine pace and versatility in the forward areas. Thanks to Tony Pulis and West Brom for allowing the deal to happen. It's now up to Jonathan to work hard for the team and express his talent in a City shirt.'

Leko, 18, has made 14 appearances for West Brom in the Premier League since making his debut against Sunderland in April 2016, in doing so he became the first player born in 1999 to play in the topflight.

Albion were keen to give the Democratic Republic of Congo-born England U19 international winger, who has also played at U16, U17 and U18 levels for the Three Lions, regular first team football at a Championship club and City have obliged.

Leko could make his Robins debut after the international break against Reading on Saturday 9th September.
