Three Loaned To Cheltenham Town

Three Loaned To Cheltenham Town

Lee Johnson has done his old man a favour at Cheltenham as he's allowed Gary Johnson to sign three players on loan from Bristol City.

Joe Morrell, Taylor Moore and Freddie Hinds will all spend time at Whaddon Road until 1st January 2017.

Commenting on the deal loans manager and club ambassador Brian Tinnion told the Official Website: 'All three and going to Cheltenham to play games and they`ll certainly gain valuable experience for their ongoing development at Whaddon Road.'

Midfielder Morrell and Moore, both 20, are the 'senior' of the youngsters.

Morrell has made his City debut at 16 and featured in the League Cup win over Plymouth earlier in the month. Meanwhile, defender Moore, who ended last season on loan at Bury, will have further opportunities to shine.

Hinds, 18, had made the biggest impact on the first team squad this season but the arrivals of others means Johnson feels the time is right for him to play regularly at the League Two side - he's scored twice in three appearances for City this term.

The future of Aden Flint is still unclear though.

According to Sky Sports, Birmingham have made an increased bid for the highly rated defender but this, reportedly £3.5m, still isn't enough to tempt City into selling.

Norwich are being credited with an interest too but 'have not yet tabled a formal offer for the defender.'

Good to have connections in the gameCheltenham have benefited from family ties and it serves both clubs well. The Flint situation is finally over with Birmingham unwilling to meet the £10 million demands. They have done an incredible amount of team building under Redknapp and almost all of it has been completed in the last seven days. They may currently be near the bottom of the league however with the signings they have made and there are several decent ones they surely will not struggle as they did last season. This team had the chance to relegate them and threw everything but the kitchen sink at them in that final game of the season,it's fair to say neither team is currently impressed with the other.,
