Torquay Loan For Dowling

George Dowling has left Bristol City for a loan at Torquay.

The midfielder has become the latest player to leave Ashton Gate in a loan capacity. He's joined the National League side for an initial one month period and could be in line to make his debut for the Gulls against Chester FC at Plainmoor on Saturday.

Last season Dowling spent time on loan at another non-league side, Weston-super-Mare.

Dowling, 18, has been involved in the City first team squad as he made his debut in April 2016 - he has gone on to make one further appearance for the Robins so far but is some way down Lee Johnson's pecking order at the moment.

Dowling should consider this as an opportunity and not as anything other than that.He is still very young,has a lot to learn and first team experience is exactly what he needs right now.He needs to get his mindset right,be professional and gain as much valuable experience from this loan as possible.When he returns hopefully he will be an improved player.
