Johnson & Bryan Seeking Norwich Win

Johnson & Bryan Seeking Norwich Win

Manager Lee Johnson and Joe Bryan have both been speaking about their hopes of seeing Bristol City take all three points off Norwich City to keep our momentum going this season.

Heading to Carrow Road on Saturday for the latest Championship game, Johnson told the Official Site as he met with the media ahead of the game that having now turned Ashton Gate into a veritable fortress, it was time to kick on in our away form.

'They`re a good side with a lot of top players. They were still in the Premier League just over a year ago and they added to their squad well during the summer. Whether it`s signing Marley Watkins, who I had at Barnsley, or the old stagers like Wes Hoolahan, Norwich have quality players across the pitch.'

Johnson went on to say.

'We`ve had some good results at Carrow Road over the years. It`s a great place to play, a real football town, and it will be difficult. The good thing for me is, I don`t think I`ve ever had a squad full of players who are in form. It makes it difficult because I have to pick a team, but it`s a good place to be in.'

He added in light of the squad flying over for the game.

'We`re very thankful to the Board for agreeing to pay a little more to aid the players` recovery, not just in preparation for the Norwich, but to help them ahead of Tuesday`s game with Bolton Wanderers.'

As for an injury update, Gary O'Neil has been ruled out of a return to his former club after a third round of injections in his knee, but Johnson hopes to welcome back Eros Pisano to the group.

As for Bryan, he said that the squad would take heart from our recent exploits but nobody would underestimate how tough a task it will be.

'In the summer we all sat down and said we wanted to sort out our away form. To win at Reading and then hold Wolves to a draw at Molineux, we`re certainly on the right track. Norwich are a big club with big expectations. They will expect be up there pushing for the Premier League. At the same time, we`re in confident mood heading there, looking to put some more points on the board.'

Adding.

'We`ve got a big squad, full of quality, and we`re all willing to work hard and learn to try and improve. The most important thing is we`ve always got a strong bench of players who can come on and affect a game, and we`ve got exciting players who can get people up on their feet. It`s definitely an exciting time to be a player here.'
