Vital View - Championship - 15th-16th December 2017

The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.

Wolves further extended their lead at the top of the Championship table on Friday with a win at Sheffield Wednesday.

However, in Saturday's late kick off, Cardiff responded to keep the pressure on and remain very much in contention for automatic promotion - victory over Hull kept the Bluebirds four point clear of third and as many behind Wolves.

Birmingham's defeat against QPR, coupled with Bolton's loss to Burton meant both dropped below the Brewers, Blues to the bottom of the Championship.

Victory for Nigel Clough's Burton side wasn't enough to move out of the relegation zone though, which was achieved by Sunderland following a rare Stadium of Light win over Fulham.

The Bristol City bid for automatic promotion also remains very much on track following a win over Nottingham Forest, but Aston Villa and Sheffield United lost ground following defeats on the road at Derby and Preston, respectively.

Here's a round-up of the Championship results.
