Gary goes for Margot

City manager Gary Johnson has recruited Fulham defender Liam 'Margot ' Fontaine as his first new signing in the transfer window.
Twenty year old Fontaine is well known to Gary who obviously rates him highly as he twice signed him on loan for Yeovil Town.
Liam came through the youth ranks at Fulham and has represented England at under 16 and under 17 level. He can play in central defence or at left back and is a good distributor of the ball, something that Gary obviously believes is lacking in the present back four.
Liam, who will wear the number 25 shirt vacated by Guy Madjo, has signed initially on loan until the end of the season, but do not rule out a permanent move as his Fulham contract expires in the summer.
The new signing will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's tough trip to Layer Road to face the in-form Colchester United. Alex Russell is a possible doubt for the trip but, otherwise, Gary is likely to have a full squad available for selection.
