'If It's Football, It's Vital'

City Must Be Ruthless

On loan striker James Quinn has called for Bristol City to be more ruthless if they want to be in the race for promotion.

The loan signing was in impressive form as he made his debut against Oldham, scoring one and creating one in the 4-3 defeat.

'I think the talent is here to do well. There are some great players in the squad and we played some good football at times against Oldham. But we probably need to be more ruthless.

'It always takes a new manager time to stamp his authority on a club and I am sure Gary Johnson will do that because he has a good record.

'At Sheffield Wednesday last season Paul Sturrock demanded ruthlessness at home, away and even in training. Everything was stepped up when he took charge. It was very hard work for the players, but we didn't half celebrate when we went up via the play-offs.'
