Richard Keogh On Carlisle Loan

Richard Keogh has spoken on his new Icons site about his loan to Carlisle from Bristol City

'I'm really excited about the loan and seeing what I can do for Carlisle. It came about when the manager gave me a ring to see if I fancied it last week. I've heard great things about John Ward and as I hadn`t been playing for Bristol, I said yes as soon as I was asked. He's been watching me play for a few years now, since I was about 15 in my youth-team days at Stoke City.

'He must think I'm pretty decent if he's asked me to come and play here. Carlisle are doing really well up at the top of League One and if he thinks I can improve the side, then that's excellent.

'All the lads have been brilliant up here, which really helps. It can be a little bit nerve-wracking when you have to go into a dressing room full of guys you don`t know, especially when they are doing so well. But they've seen me play a bit now and I think they've started taking to me. I had a good debut but I still want to improve and kick-on.'
