Johnson Plays Down Elliott Rumours

Johnson Plays Down Elliott Rumours

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has dismissed rumours linking centre midfield Marvin Elliott with a move to Ian Holloways Leicester City.

The 23 year old has been in excellent form so far this season after only joining City in the summer from Millwall, but Johnson insists he know nothing about it.

Johnson said To the Bristol Evening Post: 'This is the first I've heard of it. This is typical of what happens in January and I take it with a pinch of salt.

'It's a compliment to our club and how well we're doing that agents want to link their players with Bristol City. But that's all it is, agent talk.

'I warned people that this would happen and that agents would use the media to try and drum up interest in players. It's just something you have to live with in January'

This is the second time Elliott has been linked with a move away from the Gate, just a few weeks ago the midfielder was linked with a move to Premiership Portsmouth.

Would be a big blow if you lost him, but I can't see it happening.
