City Win At Last!

Bristol City managed their first win of the season on Saturday and it came in some style away at Carlisle United.

A second-half hat-trick by Jay Emmanuel-Thomas gave City a 4-2 victory over the Cumbrians and sent the travelling fans home happy from Brunton Park.

When the half time whistle sounded, it looked like being another one of those days after a Sean O'Hanlon header gave the home side the lead.

But JET fired in two goals just after the break to give City a rare lead away from home, Scott Wagstaff then added a third.

The home side then showed signs of getting back into the game when they made it 2-3 through Liam Noble. But JET wrapped up the points by completing his hat-trick as the game came to an end.

City could have gone ahead early in the game but keeper Mark Gillespie kept Lewis Dunk at bay with a smart block and then Marlon Pack fired a shot just wide of the target.

But half way through the first half, James Berrett sent in a corner that O'Hanlon rose to power home a header.

But early in the second half JET headed home unmarked from a cross from Brendan Moloney

Seconds after the restart, Bobby Reid played JET through and he had no trouble beating the Carlisle keeper from twelve yards.

Then Wagstaff got in on the act when he smashed home from the edge of the box, a shot that left Gillespie looking helpless as the ball zipped into the top corner of the net.

Noble put the home side briefly on the catch-up trail when he thumped a shot home through a crowed box on 80 minutes.

But hopes of a comeback were short lived and just four minutes later JET was on the mark again from twelve yards and victory belonged to City.
