'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Millen's View: Cardiff home 3-0

Keith Millen was delighted that his side well and truly put behind them a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Cardiff last season by beating them 3-0 at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Brett Pitman's third-minute strike and a 38th-minute goal from Lee Johnson gave the home side a 2-0 lead at half time and then Jamal Campbell-Ryce fired his first goal for the club to complete the scoring on 55.

Millen said: 'We have had some bad results against Cardiff in recent seasons and I have been involved as much as anybody so it was great to turn things around.

'I'm particularly pleased for our fans because they have had to take some stick from their Cardiff counterparts. Today we really showed what we are about and it was a really convincing victory.

'We may have played as well when winning at Swansea this season but it was certainly our best display at home and I was delighted with every one of the players.

'We can now go to Queens Park Rangers on Monday full of confidence and, while we must guard against attacking too much in that game, I really feel we can take something from it.

'Someone's just told me we are now only six points off a play-off place. That's how crazy the Championship is this season.'
