City To Seek Firepower From Loan Market

City To Seek Firepower From Loan Market
When the transfer deadline passed on Monday most would say that it was a little disappointing that the club had been unable to bring in a scoring striker and an attacking midfielder, but that problem is to be addressed when the loan window opens next week.

City are desperate for a man who can pair up with top scorer Jonathan Kodjia and help him find his goalscoring touch again after a disappointing return of just two goals since November.

City's chief operating officer has been working closely with John Pemberton and Keith Burt to get them what they want to bolster the attack but nothing has come of the efforts.

So now a dabble into the emergency loan market is the only option left, but they may just be able to bring in that added quality of a striker with a good pedigree that is looking to get games under his belt after slipping down the pecking order at their own club.

And as the man who is in charge of getting in the needs of Pemberton and Burt, he does admit that a striker is top of his priorities.

He told the Western Daily Press: 'We are where we are and needs must. We are necessarily pursuing a short-term policy right now, because staying up is the most important thing.

'My job is to listen to John Pemberton and Keith Burt and then deliver their specific requirements.

'My role is to see what is available and then try to bring in the best players I can.

'We all know what we need and recruiting a player for the final third of the pitch is a priority.'

It can, Fulham got another attacker in on deadline day so in theory he will be able to go out on loan and probably will, whether we get him or not remains to be seen. Some say you should never go back, but I'd like to see him here again

People seem to forget that the club dont have a big wage structure, our best players are only on the equivellent of having a paper round so unless the club loaning out is going to come up with most of their wages, most of the good players wont be coming
