Johnson To Turn To Cherries For Smith Replacement?
City already have five players on loan but with an ongoing injury to Korey Smith playing on Johnson`s mind, another dabble in the market could be a possibility according to the Bristol Post.
Smith is still suffering from an ankle injury and shows little sign of improvement in the short term and City must address the shortfall in playing staff.
With eight games left to play, further injuries in midfield would leave the manager with big problems, and seeing that nothing has come from Johnson`s interest in Andrew Croft from Brighton, he attention is attracted further along the coast.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe has listed Welshman McDonald as available for loan as the player needs first team football under his belt to keep hopeful about making the Welsh squad in this summer`s Euro Championships.
Johnson told the Bristol Post: 'Maybe I will go back in for a loan. I will have to see how Korey Smith is and his situation is driving me up the wall.
'He seems to be being delayed and delayed and I don't want to risk it. We are not blessed with central midfield players and there is only really Marlon Pack who is a natural in that position.
'I don't want to be prohibited by not having another central midfielder, so if we look for anything, it will be in that position. I'll sit down with the physio and put him under a bit of pressure to decide whether we need to bring another in or not.'
